Adventure Jet launches New Boat

This summer expect to see a brand new boat plying the waters of the Manawatu Gorge at over 50 miles per hour that is!

Adventure Jet's John Murphy has recently completed the build, having spent a solid 900 hours on the project, from design to launch. John has been building boats for years, and exports his designs world wide. Two similar boats are operating commercially on the Zambezi and in Hokkaido Japan.

The new Adventure Jet is a 20 seater 7.2 meter alloy jet. Powered by a big block chev 454, it generates 400 horse power, sucking 1.5 litre of gas per minute and pumping an astounding 1500 litres a minute through the jet unit.

Drafting only 75 millimeters on the plane, the Manawatu Gorge is perfect for the Adventure Jet. With good rapids like the White Horse, rock walls and boulders, the Gorge is not dissimilar to the Shotover River in Queenstown. At 50 miles per hour, the experience is right up there with the world as best jetboat rides.
